A doggie with a broken foot was discovered by Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
No doubt they intended to save, but what they were unaware of was the fact that they would be saving considerably more lives.
ilovemydogsomuch writes that they discovered that the pup had milk not long after they had saved her.
They discovered this doggie was a new mother and had babies around at that point. Volunteers were aware that they needed to look for them swiftly.
They immediately hurried to the mother’s home in the bushes to see if her babies were there.
In order to find a little nest, rescuers had to brush leaves aside and scurry to nearby shrubs.
There were not just a few pups within the nest cave in the ground that served as a sort of “safe haven”—but TWELVE!
To keep them safe and comfortable, their mother did a fantastic job of concealing them. Before returning with their mother to their sanctuary, workers carefully placed each puppy into a box.
They were able to provide the mother and puppies with the medical attention they required there.
All of the pups will be saved and neutered before being finally placed available for adoption once they are ready, while the mother will be having surgery on her wounded leg.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis is now seeking individuals or families to get the babies and take them home.
